To avoid the crowds and lift lines and reduce costs along a bit, Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is worth considering. This mountain ski area, near Flathead Valley, 17 miles from Lakeside, Montana and 35 miles from Kalispell. Towering at a height of more than 6600 meters to 1440 meters elevation, Blacktail area ski has about 1,000 acres of ski slopes.
Ski Blacktail Mountain is a relatively new station opened its skiing during the 2000 season of skiing. The roads are safe and well groomed.
