What training is needed to be able to walk long distacnes barefoot?
I was walking barefoot for a week or now and continue with my first barefoot walk yesterday. Was about 3.5 miles over rugged terrain and rocky. I hope the Stength so you can walk barefoot for miles without pain. How long does it take / What kind of training?
I do not know what country they live in, but it is quite normal to be barefoot in most regions of the world where the temperature remains above 0 ° C. To take hiking seriously means that you really want to have difficult feet, and the only way is to be barefoot all the time. Recently I had to go to a conference, a seminar in another country where bare feet are not acceptable. I I was there three weeks longer than I put on my shoes in my life. It took me four days to get any kind of toughness back to my feet when I got home and after a week everything has returned to normal. So I guess it depends on where you are, how many times you go barefoot, how often to use shoes and what kind of conditions normally walk barefoot in. I do not think it would be too long.
