Walking the path of demons?
I want to hike the trail of the demons in the Catskill Mountains, but can not seem to find much information on quotas and permits you need. A person who never traveled on foot and if so, how is going to be on the trip?
Hello, I have traveled in the Catskills for many years, so hopefully I can help. First, there is no charge for use of the park, which belongs to the state. Second, if plan to camp overnight in the park, you can not camp with a group of more than 9 people. Third, the park is "to have in achieving" if not leave trash (ie, things are biodegradable). In terms of creating a trip, you just go riding. The way of the devil is very long so there are many places you can go by the wayside. Finally, I recommend buy the cards if you've never been there or who are unfamiliar with the trails. I pasted below some sites I think it might be useful. The 1st is in New York, New Jersey Trail Conference. They are in charge of the many trails and do a great job of maintenance. I suggest visit the Web site can help. You can also buy cards for them. The 2 other addresses I found on Internet search only under the term "devils way, so you can do the same for more information. I hope I was helpful, there are many things to see and do, so I do not think I covered everything. O before I forget walking clubs, many individuals and organizations that several works in the Catskills and other areas. Could be a good idea to join one, to familiarize with walking can be fun and nice to meet nice people. Well, that's all my Rant, good luck, Daniel http://www.nynjtc.org/ http://www.connarch.com/miscellaneous/devils_path_and_burroughs_range.htm http://www.thebackpacker.com/trips/trip/ 612.php
